Howard Huge
Cool.I came to this thread to say that the parking lot was still full of cars today. I guess that we will know when the lot gets fenced off. There's a lot of lots on that lot, only a little bit of a lot will be lotted off for this lot.The rest will probably stay a lot of parking lots for a lot longer.

Montrose1100
Anyone who came to Houston for the Super Bowl in 2004 aren't gonna recognize the city. Wish they would do something with the Main Street Square. The Mall Fountains are lame, would nice to have a big pedestrian plaza and not have the disconnect.

Who is in charge of those things, the Downtown Management District?
Moore713
You could easy up main street square by allowing street vending, food and retail ,
Nole23
I actually attended the downtown management district meeting on Thursday and they are planning to add food trucks and other vendors to Main Street Square as a part of the larger main street "beautification" project.

UtterlyUrban
Randall Davis spokesman told me it starts either next month or the beginning of next year. I'm thinking the later.Cars are still parking there. No sign of a fence yet. Looks like next year.

BigFootsSocks
You know, a small street car from the Red Line down Green Street, past this, to the Toyota Center and then Discovery Green would be great to increase foot traffic in the area.

KinkaidAlum
This is HUGE news. The first ground-up for sale condo building in downtown Houston since... ever? We all saw what One Park Place did. Wonder if this will lead to 2-3 condo buildings following soon. I hope so.
cloud713
Seems like some other condo developer (probably doing one of the recent/new projects in uptown) mentioned recrently in an article that they wanted to build their next project in the "city center" or something. Hopefully in downtown.

The Galleria and downtown are the perfect markets for it.

Urbannizer
For real, or is this just the latest marketing spin? (Not that there's anything wrong with that)This comes from GT Leach, the general contractor. So it sounds for real this time around - with it being fully funded now and sales target met (it appears).
