Popular Post Highrise Tower
TMC Helix Park, once again, amazes me. Just all around spectacular. I noticed they put up green & tan construction screens. Not sure how I feel about this. I would assume a green lawn would be more appealing than a fence. Maybe they wanted to blend the colors? A green screen would blend with the green Helix Park. Sad to see Two Discovery Way being boarded up. The green bike lane intersection is just awesome!! Parcel G, site work: Parcel F, fenced with green screens: Parcel D, TDW, fenced with a green screen. Two Discovery Way: Parcel B, getting some site work!! Is something happening here? This was supposed to be the University of Houston parcel? Intersection: Helix Park, section 4 fenced with a tan screen: The water fall progress as well. Can't wait to see it turned on!! Texasota
A little disappointed by the on-street bike lanes. Given the scale of the street its ok, but since it was built brand new from scratch I'd have liked to see *all* the bike lanes elevated/fully protected.

Given the scale of the street its ok, but since it was built brand new from scratch I'd have liked to see *all* the bike lanes elevated/fully protected. Either that or just narrow mixed/"cars are guests" lanes where nobody's going more than 10-15mph anyway. I mean, is there really need for cars to pass bikes within the HP development? I can't really imagine there is. Rode through East River recently and had the same thought. I really think all bike lanes on urban streets are really more car infrastructure than anything else. On the other hand, I think the size and typical speed of the average car these days is so deeply ingrained that most people who aren't already confident on-street cyclists aren't going to start biking without dedicated infrastructure, and I care more (right now) about expanding the biking base than having universally optimal design. Moreover, I'm always a little hesitant to complain about new bike infrastructure when the network is still in such desperate need of expansion. (The only new infra I've seen that actually makes biking less safe are the intersection-only lanes with no signal differentiation on Woodhead, Hawthorne, and Taft. Not using those until they segregate the signals.)

BEES?!
It really is brutal. Especially, too, considering those trees are a bit older, and it’s hard on them to be transplanted in the first place. The heat and drought have not been too kind to the trees this year! Feels a lot like 2011, but hopefully it won’t get that dry again and we may see some rain soon. 7
Popular Post Highrise Tower
My friend went to an event at 1MC today and snapped this photo for me. Awesome perspective!! Does anyone else notice Parcel A is being worked on? The latest I've heard it's supposed to become a temporary surface lot. Will be interesting to see what they're doing here!! Building signage for TMC3 Garage spotted!! I'm so glad they kept the name TMC3 somewhere within the development.
Popular Post Highrise Tower
Just wow. Every time I visit TMC Helix Park I get even more impressed. I really, really, like the street layout and design. The overall area is bright and "pops" at you. Can't wait to see it when the streets and sidewalks are power washed! The area behind One Dynamic Way: Collaborative Building, getting chairs! Two Dynamic Way, something is being built. What is that? Parcel A: Parcel B: Helix Gardens, Section 3: Helix Gardens, Section 4: Parcel H is being fenced!! Either this parcel is being fenced for protection, or overall aesthetics related. I don't see a 30-story hotel breaking ground this month. The old TMC3 vinyl wrap on the exterior fence is being removed. What's this all about? Possibly replacing the graphics of TMC3 to Helix Park? This might be bad news. What are people's thoughts on the removal of the signage? Mixed-Use Garage, love this building!! Really hope retail comes soon!

Popular Post Highrise Tower
Another week of construction progress at TMC Helix Park! I took notice of the progress on the last Helix Park that contains that winding water feature. The landscaping around Dynamic 1 continues to look better and better! Love the overall landscaping/streets at this campus. One Dynamic Way: Parcel F, site work continues. Helix Park, section 1: Helix Park, section 2: Helix Park, section 3: Helix Park, section 4: Collaborative Building: Two Dynamic Way, unknown building progress; the parcel is now fenced, and the wooden enclosures are being painted gray to match the surface concrete. New section of the bike path behind the building as well!! Looks so good! Bicycles on site!! Parcel A, seems that something is definitely happening here. Probably site work, and water management related. Parcel B: Parcel H is now completely fenced with a TMC3 graphic banner wrap. Also, a whole new street just opened! They were removing the old graphic banner in order to remove the fencing so they could open the road. Progress!! Popular Post Highrise Tower
The roads of TMC Helix Park are now open and operational! Fencing around the site now has been removed! I took a walk around the campus to check things out and wow!! The TMC3 campus was designed so well. Very impressive!! I believe further construction development has been placed on hold. Trailers being wrapped and removed from the site. Seems like they are fencing the remaining parcels and coming to a stop. Trailer wrapped, ready for removal: One Dynamic Way from the lawns of TMC Helix Park: Up close: Collaborative Building: Front entrance, showing the address of 7255 Helix Park Ave Two Dynamic Way small structure. Popular Post Highrise Tower
Beacon Capitol Partners has updated their featured page for Dynamic One. Very well done!! I really like the layout and overall feel of the page. https://beaconcapital.com/property/dynamic-one A few things that caught my eye that I thought I would add to the thread. The second phase of Dynamic One, South Tower, is showing a delivery date of Q3 2025. A new rendering has been released of the TMC Helix Park Mixed-Use Garage. Unfortunately, the new rendering does not match the rendering with the curvy glass facade. This has either been value engineered, or they are waiting until they can sign major leases before they build. I also do not see any type of illuminated signage on the upper part of the garage. I was hoping to have some type of landmark lighting. Fingers crossed the retail wing is still in play! New rendering, and built as depicted: Old rendering showing the retail wing.
Popular Post Highrise Tower
TMC Helix Park getting amenities! I see more lawn chairs, bicycle racks, trash cans, and recycle bins. Collaborative Building: Two Dynamic Way: Site features: Parcel E, fully exposed. The construction trailers that used to be parked on half the parcel have been removed. Currently, there is a surface lot on one half. I believe this parcel was supposed to go to UTHealth? Parcel A, what's happening here? They have now been working on this parcel for about a month. Water related for the future build? Parcel B: One Dynamic Way: Helix Park, section 3 has lawn chairs!! Helix Park, section 4 water feature progress. Popular Post Highrise Tower
Driving (or walking) around TMC Helix Park is just incredible. The small city was built from scratch! So much engineering was involved for all this to happen. It looks like the TMC is now allowing professional photographers to shoot the interior of the TMC3 Collaborative Building. From what I have seen, it's quite amazing. Breathtaking. TMC3 Collaborative Building is getting dual building signage! Dynamic Garage: TMC3 Garage: Mixed-Use Garage up-close details. jmitch94
Looks like 1/3 to half the trees are already dead :( The project looks really nice though. Both Dallas and Houston are excellent candidates for the ARPA-H hub. However, there are some key differences between the two cities that may make one a better fit than the other. Dallas Dallas is a major financial and business hub, with a strong economy and a large pool of talent. The city is home to a number of top universities, including UT Southwestern Medical Center and Southern Methodist University. Dallas has a relatively low cost of living, making it an attractive place for businesses and individuals. The city has a strong track record of attracting and retaining top talent in the life sciences industry. Houston Houston is home to the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical complex in the world. The city has a strong track record of innovation and collaboration in the life sciences industry. Ultimately, the decision of which city will host the ARPA-H hub will come down to a number of factors, including the strength of the bids, the political climate, and the availability of funding. However, both Dallas and Houston are excellent candidates and either city would be a great fit for the hub. Q: If Houston is home to the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical complex in the world, wouldn't it be a better choice? Yes, Houston's location in the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical complex in the world, would certainly be a big plus for the city's bid to host the ARPA-H hub. The Texas Medical Center is home to over 100 hospitals and research institutions, and it attracts top talent from around the world. This would provide a strong foundation for the ARPA-H hub, which is expected to create thousands of jobs and generate billions of dollars in economic activity. In addition to the Texas Medical Center, Houston also has a strong track record of innovation and collaboration in the life sciences industry. The city is home to a number of startups and established companies, and it is a major center for research and development. This would provide a fertile environment for the ARPA-H hub to thrive. However, it is important to note that Dallas also has a strong bid for the ARPA-H hub. Here is the link: https://www.dallasnews.com/business/real-estate/2023/09/14/next-phase-moves-ahead-at-dallas-blossoming-biotech-hub-pegasus-park/ and a blurb… Quote The impact of Pegasus Park on the Dallas area can’t be overstated,” said Tyler Whitaker, vice president and division manager of Swinerton’s Dallas office, in a statement. Pegasus Park is being promoted by a coalition of Texas cities as a potential site for the federal government’s new biomedical research agency. For more than a year, science advocates conducted a targeted campaign to convince lawmakers that Texas is the right fit for the $2.5 billion Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health, a Biden administration undertaking to accelerate biomedical health and technology discoveries. Dallas leaders joined forces with Austin and San Antonio in a bid to win one of three coveted ARPA-H sites. One will be in Washington, D.C., and the remaining two are expected to be announced this fall. The battle for the ARPA-H hub will be competitive, with the Dallas, Austin and San Antonio delegation likely up against bids from biotech homes like California’s Silicon Valley or North Carolina’s Research Triangle. A Houston coalition spearheaded by the Texas Medical Center also is competing for one. Since announcement of the bidding process back in April 2022 I counted at least 3 articles in the DMN cheerleading the Dallas coalition. The Houston Comical has printed exactly ZERO articles. 🤨 Let’s hope credentials win out on this one and not politics. It is rare that Houston and Dallas go head-to-head on these types of bids. Fingers crossed for Houston.
CREguy13
If Texas wins the 2nd Hub, I'll be SHOCKED if it's Dallas and not Houston. Hub No. 2 is focused on enhancing clinical trials for diverse patient populations. I'm pretty sure TMC performs more clinical trials than anywhere in the world and we're the most diverse city in the United States. I have to assume that all the hospital presidents, major TMC stakeholders, and our represented officials at every level of government are pushing hard because of the opportunity and how perfect a fit Houston is. I don't think Dallas can win this one

Dallas was not relevant to Texas independence. There were no battles fought in that part of the state…but Dallas paid off the right people to get the festivities held there in 1936. Dallas’ Fair Park would not be what it is today without that Centennial Exposition. Houston city leaders need to be on their game to win this.
