Highrise Tower
Slightly getting off topic but HEB sure is building a lot of new stores. Randall's and Krogers do not develop as fast. The HEB mixed use on Kirby will help the foot traffic of the nearby Buffalo Speedway store.

The H-E-B...well, it's an H-E-B. There's no up escalator for empty carts, so you have to take the freight elevators in the front. The parking lot is confusingly laid out with not enough places to put carts (no grassy islands), and my favorite brand of white bread (which Kroger almost NEVER sells) was stale. But there are carts upstairs, no need to take one up with you.
Highrise Tower
Having a sit down bar is good for grocery stores. Noticed Whole Foods Kirby had a bar. Definitely a grocery perk these days. Someplace to go, sit down, and relax. The new Bellaire HEB Market has a few beer taps but it's not situated as a bar. You can't sit down and watch sporting games

Highrise Tower
Quote It's official. The Roastery, a new coffee shop backed by four high-profile New York chefs, will make its debut at Bellaire's new, two-story H-E-B on Wednesday, October 17. As CultureMap first reported last month, The Roastery unites Jonathan Waxman, Jimmy Bradley, Joey Campanaro, and Jason Giagrande (collectively, “The Four J’s”) in a new concept that expands the chefs' relationship with H-E-B. Currently, they sell coffee, food products, and specialty teas there under the Four J brand. Here is the actual presentation that was made for COB. You can clearly see that all improvements are designed to not only improve street traffic, and pedestrians, but also deliveries for the local businesses. These opposition groups just blow my mind.https://www.bellairetx.gov/DocumentCenter/View/22955/5th-and-Spruce-Street-2-18-19-Final
