Urbannizer
Boutique condo project. https://www.facebook.com/miradorgroup/timeline Here is one of our most recent condo designs: THE PARK MODERNE, The expression of volume, emphasis on balance, and importance of views emerge together to create the Park Moderne. The building’s structure cultivates an urban sophistication by introducing a refined and distinctive architectural masterpiece. And I think this was the second design they were considering: Our Second Concept for a new Boutique Condo project: ORIGIN: With roots anchored in Houston’s history the Origin represents the melting pot of history and evolution that is the modern city of Houston we all know.
Purdueenginerd
first one reminds of an IKEA bookshelf.
Montrose1100
Both are great designs. Here's to hoping it's in the loop, maybe off of Montrose.
Luminare
Other than the name, I like it. Simple, clean, and finally something a little more contemporary!
houstontexasjack
I don't think they'd go up in the area, but I also think these would look really neat at that plot catty-corner to where the Southmore is going up in the Museum District. monarch
very very very florida, or maybe even galveston. however, are they really houston? not sure..... Edited March 25, 2015 by monarch
cloud713
Design they "WERE" considering? So is this fantasy? I agree on loving to see them near Montrose or the Museum District.
Moore713
Looks like it would fit the museum distinct best, condos design with a artist slate would only add to the museum area feel
Luminare
Why only the Museum district? This is what Midtown and Uptown should look like.
curbur
I'm not a huge fan of the first rendering, but I feel this is one of those mockups that may actually look better in real life than digitally.
phillip_white
I'm digging both of these designs, but this one takes the cake. Reminds me of something from the Life After People show.
Avossos
Love both renderings. If done cheap, would be disastrous though
Timoric
Maybe it will be a Plyscraper as featured on CNN.com http://edition.cnn.com/2015/03/25/tech/wooden-skyscrapers-plyscraper/index.html Love both renderings. If done cheap, would be disastrous though
monarch
timoric, for god's sake, i have been wanting to inquire, but i have been a bit shy. just who is that gorgeous / adorable little angel located within your avatar? if he is yours (and i assume that he is indeed a he, since he is surrounded by blue) then please accept my hearty congratulations. should he not be yours, then i shall continue to be shy from now on.....
WshfulThnkn
Very nice designs. Especially the first one. Great improvement over the midrise multifamily projects developers in Houston have been spitting out the last several years.

bobruss
I liked both also, but couldn't help but imagine a raging waterfall, at the height of one of Houston's infamous floods. Water cascading down to the street below on those setbacks. Film at 11:
UtterlyUrban
I don't appreciate the aesthetic of the first rendering at all.
arche_757
Umm.... I ...uh... think these are conceptual?! Based on what I saw on their website. That and there's no way that the first building has any HVAC/structure etc. taken into account based on shallowness of the floor depth between floors. Could be they are pumping air and have run plumbing etc. around a core? But that seems kind of odd. Few other condos have that. Limits having a spa tub or shower with a 12th floor view of the skyline! Seems very conceptual to me. Could be wrong?
toxtethogrady
first one reminds of an IKEA bookshelf. The second one reminds me of the Oobleck House in Portola Valley, CA.
