houston-development
I guess Houston-development will tell us in the future if we are just blowing smoke up our a$$ or if it really is going to happen. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> its not like i have a crystal ball or anything i only pass along information from personal experience and from others i deem reliable. randy now has the capabilities to do a deal of this magnatude; hes finishing up on his 17-story deal in vegas. should be done around october/november. its still way too early to make bets if this deal moves forward or not. however, based upon the developers previous experience, reputation, and capabilities, one would think the deal "should" move forward. We are half way through with September, and still nothing. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Someone forwarded me a rendering, but i am not computer savvy enough to figure out how to post it... Also, I got an invite to the launch party which is being thrown at the Great Room next to Fertitta's office building on the loop at San Felipe. RD is, at the very least, absolutely commited to making it go. Everything else to which he's put his mind in the past years has gone on to be successful... Fingers crossed. houston-development
Be happy they have a website. The Manhatten and Empire Condos' didn't get a website until construction started and most of the units were alread sold<{POST_SNAPBACK}>those projects were up on his site (http://www.randalldavis.com) prior to ground breaking. Way to computer challenged here In any event, saw the new sales center opened yesterday. Drove by last night on my way home and RD was standing out front surveying the site. Picture of the building is on a sign on the outside of the building and it looks very cool.

bcnet
I had lunch at JCI yesterday and asked one of the workers how long the restuarant will be open and he said they have been told at least 6 month. I guess it always depends on the number of units sold to get the ball moving.

editor
I've lived in a Randall Davis building before, and known people who have lived in other ones. Let's hope they have better management, maintenance, and construction than the ones I've experienced.
The New Juniper
Guy in my office says there is some kind of launch party tomorrow night at the big tent being built by Tillman's Rolls dealership on the west loop.He put in a reservation check and said he got number 24 and they haven't even launched yet.I went by the sales trailer yesterday and it really is nice. Above and beyond anything Randall Davis has built in the past. Can't wait to see the crane on site. We need more of this in Houston.

ToolMan
I've had a few issues at The Hogg, but I guess that is what you get when you live in an old building. Edited September 28, 2005 by ToolMan
kjb434
The website is up in full with floorplans and everything. It'll be a nice addition when heading north on Post Oak and the views from the building looking south down Post Oak will be nice.

citykid09
The building kind of looks like what the?????(I forgot the name of it, but it is the newest highrise in the Uptown area???) was origanaly supposed to look. Does anyone know the one that I am talking about?
intencity77
Finally a condominium tower with some character. So many are built as a plain boring box (i.e. the Riverway project). Plus this tower will look great anchoring the northern end of Post Oak.

One would think that the person who has made enough money to afford one of these pads would not fall for it, but every day you see average products with extraordinary prices, and a certain demographic has to have it...$100 wine openers, etc. Just yesterday, I saw an article about baby clothes and accessories for "yoga momas"...$129 Italian leather booties and $800 strollers. We may pan some of Randall Davis' designs, but his ability to market to people with more money than taste should not be underestimated. I like that end of Uptown better, plus its a taller building with many more floors.
