That said, I DO remember the Power of Houston fireworks and laser light show they did in 1997. That was by far the coolest thing I've seen. What was the purpose of that? How cool would that be to put on a ''Power of Houston'' or ''Rendez-vous'' event when the Superbowl is in town. Can you imagine the positive coverage? Might even be global. As for "Why not today", I imagine that with the post-9/11 world there are WAY too many hoops to jump through. Maybe not from 9/11, but I can't imagine such a thing being done today.
