Fortune
I hope they build something attractive on that site to boost that area, I was just saying to myself yesterday that this portion of Uptown isn't very attractive.

Urbannizer
Many thanks to our sponsor Bury, which is keeping busy with several multifamily projects under construction. That includes some Uptown communities, like Bristol Park. That 219-unit mid-rise will sit on 1.5 acres by the park within walking distance of the Galleriahttp://www.bisnow.com/commercial-real-estate/houston/the-future-of-uptown/

Popular Post Urbannizer
Doubled in height, now known as Bristol Cove https://bkvgroup.com/project/bristol-cove/ BKV Group’s inaugural project with developer partner, Legacy Partners, positions a 16-story, residential building within Houston’s upscale Galleria District. Featuring 280 units spread across 11 floors, the exterior and interior components align with the District’s high-end, luxurious clientele, appealing both in size, scale, and available amenities, in addition to being closely located to downtown Houston and surrounded by bustling retail areas, office towers, hotels, and private health clubs. One of the most intriguing aspects Legacy saw in partnering with BKV Group was the firm’s light gauge steel expertise. Light gauge allows interior walls to be prefabricated and shipped directly to the site, reducing the amount of material waste. Light gauge also provides the ability for building components to be erected on site, allowing floors to be constructed quicker. Combined with the panel walls being fabricated in Houston and exterior tiles being locally sourced, Bristol Cove’s construction process is anticipated to be highly sustainable, and will be one of the first light gauge steel projects completed in Texas, with more on the way. Standing out amongst the surrounding buildings, Bristol Cove is ideally located next to a park shared with a neighboring condo tower. With Bristol Cove making a statement through its exterior panelization, the building provides a renewed sense of materiality by eschewing the traditional brick and stucco palette typically utilized in the region. Set to be completed in early 2021, Bristol Cove provides terrific views to the city – particularly from the west – with units featuring floor-to-ceiling glass and open-air balconies, in addition to an area for a fully-functional outdoor space. An ample amount of amenities including a ride share lounge, car charging station, five levels of parking, dog wash, lap pool, and indoor spa and sauna round out Bristol Cove’s tenant program capable of resonating with Houston’s diverse set of demographics and tastes. 24
jmitch94
I much prefer this new design. Also just realized I live right across McCue from this. Would love for the empty lot at the corner of McCue and Richmond to be developed.
CaptainJilliams
Ahhh, this site is that giant, empty lot next to Best Buy isn’t it? If so, great! Always thought it would be perfect for a low/mid rise tower.

J Money
I like this. Is the developer linked to the Bristol Parc? It would be nice if that building got a fresh coat of paint with this influx of capital. It might be the most tired looking (occupied) building in the whole city!

Currently I believe the TMC is larger than downtown in terms of square footage. The Uptown area is certainly huge, but is designated as having approximately half the square footage ad the Med Center. My eyes do not see it that way.

Currently I believe the TMC is larger than downtown in terms of square footage. The Uptown area is certainly huge, but is designated as having approximately half the square footage ad the Med Center. My eyes do not see it that way. The number most often seen is for office space square footage. I doubt the Medical Center has exceeded downtown. According to the TMC website, "TMC’s campus encompasses 50 million developed square feet." Downtown has almost 43 million square feet of just commercial office space (with almost 2 Million square feet under construction). That does not count the dozens of hotels, government buildings, the GRB (1.8 MSF), MinuteMaid Park (1.26 MSF), Toyota Center, St. Josephs' Hospital... Likewise, I doubt Uptown will approach downtown in square footage, even in ten years. Let's not forget that downtown has also been adding square footage at a pretty rapid pace (almost 2 million square feet of office space under construction currently, plus several high-rise and mid-rise apartment buildings.) For a point of reference, while Uptown probably still has more square footage in hotels and certainly in residential, Uptown only has about 17 Million Square Feet of office space.

monarch
^^^ resort pool addition is quite lovely, seems a bit miami-esq. this particular design could very well be the largest condominium/apartment resort pool in the houston area. hopefully, this particular BRISTOL COVE design is final... and they may move on to development... 1 1
