hindesky
A midcentury building in West Houston is getting new life years after the late founder of the Houston Oilers closed a car dealership at the site. HGreg, an auto dealer headquartered in Florida, opened a 7.75-acre pre-owned car dealership in mid-December at 6737 Southwest Freeway. The showroom, recognizable by its gabled roofline, was considered a modern building when it opened in 1966, but there hasn’t been a dealership operating there for at least the past two decades, according to HGreg. HGreg bought the site in July 2022 from KSA Industries, a privately held family business founded by the late businessman Bud Adams, according to HGreg. Adams in 1959 founded the Houston Oilers, which played its first season in 1960 as a member of the American Football League, which later merged with the NFL. The Oilers moved to Tennessee in 1997 and later became the Titans. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/real-estate/article/minute-maid-south-west-water-sugar-land-18587426.php
