innerlooper
OK upon closer inspection, they are changing out balcony railings. I guess all of them. Ouch.I have some pictures but cannot figure out how to place them here. I'm not an IT person and can't find a sticky on the site that says "here is how to add photos." I see the image icon but it asks for URL. Thanks in advance.
sevfiv
Your pictures can be uploaded - if you're in the full reply window (click on "more options" next to the "post" button in the quick reply window) click on the "Choose File" button to select them from your computer and then attach them.Otherwise the images need to be hosted somewhere to get a URL (like tinypic, photobucket).I thought we had a FAQ about this but I can't find anything either! If we really don't, we'll make one..

Geoff8201
So is the railing glass recalled/defective/unsafe?Only conclusion I can figure... this would be too much, time, money and disruption if all i was was a slight visual change for aesthetics. innerlooper
Every last rail being removed. This is a shot of rail at an upper floor during construction. Edited December 17, 2011 by innerlooper
Geoff8201
Well according to a friend of mine, whom has had some contractor dealings with that building, that the need to redo the railing system stems from how they were anchored to the building, apparently there was a lot of rain water getting in through the mounts and leaking badly in some cases to the floor below, throughout the building. innerlooper
Thank you for the info. Lets see if they put back the same rail design.
Geoff8201
Ok, so, I'm surprised none of us found these articles sooner... my last post was a mismatch of the facts. DTG
The new balcony rails are a completely new system than what was originally designed. They also are being installed with laminated glass.
