Contractors say work could restart in June on X Houston, a 33-story skyscraper in the Museum District, several months after construction abruptly stopped on what was expected to be one of Houston’s largest co-living projects.

X Houston was estimated to cost $107 million, according to initial state permit filings, which are subject to change.

Since September 2023, subcontractors filed dozens of liens against affiliates of The X Co. for unpaid work and services tallying more than $67 million, according to Harris County deed records.

Liens totaling about $38 million were filed by Hoar Construction, according to deed records. The remaining claims — ranging in amounts from $680 to $10.8 million — were filed by subcontractors such as mechanics, electricians and plumbers, records show.

Contractors are working with the developer to resolve the liens, Johnson said: “That’s what we’re working toward, and they’re really close to finalizing those.”

I’m glad Hoar Construction is projecting optimism. A June construction timeline would match-up with the dismissal timeline in the foreclosure suits. 🤞

While I was walking to take some pics of the mural going up on the old Cotton Exchange building a couple of Keystone workers were going back to work after lunch at the Holiday Inn Express/Staybridge Suites. I asked if them if they were going back to X Houston(Keystone was the concrete contractor), they said in a couple months meaning October. I asked if Keystone got their money from the lawsuit and he said they got $10 mil but are still owed $4 mil. 🤗

While I was taking pics of the Holiday Inn Express/Staybridge Suites in downtown on Texas Ave. I talked with another Keystone Concrete worker who said he was told this week they will be going back to X Houston in about 1 month.
