toxtethogrady
"Before" wasn't so shabby, either. I can remember back to 1977 when none of those buildings existed.
cloud713
Nothing like being stuck in 610 track, eh, Cloud?heh, I just jumped on 610 from San Felipe after touring the High Creek District, heading up to Woodway so I could get this picture and then head into downtown to check out the other developments.
richfish
They're putting white paneling over the green wall on the south side. I'm wondering if that's going to really be the final covering. Imagining the whole thing like that and it's going to look like a giant shiny plastic building.

SkylineView
Something has changed on the last two floors that have been poured. Â They are taller, and have a reinforced corner (south-east end). Â I remember reading that some of the condo's were going to have soaking pools... wonder if that's what it is. diggity
those would be the penthouses, no? Â I would imagine they would be a little swankier. Â

toxtethogrady
The density on the north side of Uptown is overwhelming. And that's before Amegy Bank and the Landry's project begin.

Not sure how great that will be for the guys that have balconies above their pool, but the top floor pool (if they put one in) would be really legit. Will be interested to see hcad update to see who ended up snagging these.
apple addict
i wonder if this area will ever actually be walkable? even with all these new towers, many of them are setback away from the street and lack any GRF. plus the infrastructure around uptown heavily favors cars. regardless, its always great to see some higher density. monarch
wonderful updates urbannizer! Â it should be time for the astoria to start glassing it's exterior facade....
SkylineView
Hard to tell from the photos, but the most recent floor is stepped in on the south-east corner. Â Looks like it is tapering.
bobruss
I believe they are on one of the last floors which are setback.

Dakota79
It sure doesn't have a lot of windows for a residential high rise. I don't get it. All those views wasted with closets and baths likley on exterior walls. Oh, the humanity.

bobruss
I'm sorry, but in my opinion, the Mercer is one ugly building. The podium, the color and details are just bad!All it needs on top is the crown from the Memorial City tower and it would be the poster child of bad taste.
Montrose1100
Just wait and see how the beautiful faux-deco facade turns out before anyone doubts why the windows are so small.
Naviguessor
^^ Exactly. It's hard to accurately recreate authentic Art Deco Details with large windows.
