Houston19514
Fencing might have something to do with the perceived safety of the bike trail. (see thread regarding repeated attacks on this bike trail about 1/2 mile from these apartments . . .)

(see thread regarding repeated attacks on this bike trail about 1/2 mile from these apartments . . .) Yeah, if apartment dwellers almost universally prefer to have fences and gates in suburban settings, the same is going to be true when you have a bayou trail that leads under a giant freeway a few hundred feet away. Plus the occasional alligator. As long as there is a good sidewalk connection from the apartment entrance to the bayou trail, I'm happy.
hindesky
The trail near the edge of the East River will eventually link up to the rest of the north bank trail. It currently ends under the west side of the Jensen street bridge due to the construction going on there. I had to find a Bike Tag there once. East River trail.

There's legit a thousand ways they could have incorporated the trail into the development. Im not sure why being affordable housing or a $20 sandwich, make this vision harder. Is that the standard we set for affordable housing? Being a bare minimum building? This is an architectural forum, criticism will be provided when necessary :) If it's so easy why don't you create a non-profit which takes like a week with the state and then apply for a loan for 10,000,000 + and do it yourself since everyone does it wrong lol? Oh cry me a river, you're on on architecture forum. Stop acting like you single handedly built this building with your bare hands. The "well since you think you can do it better, why don't you" argument is so corny and childish, what are you 16? Maybe try putting your 2 brain cells to work together to understand that people are going to have a different opinion than you :) lol? lol? lol??

This is 2022 not 2002, this would have looked so much better with better colored bricks. But it matches the bayou!
