CrockpotandGravel
This thread was originally created September 26, 2019. I'm reposting / reupping this because this post and other content from me are no longer available on the forum due to a mod removing my account and its content in "error" (supposedly). An archive link of the thread is coming soon.Mods, please don't move this to the Heights forum where all of my Washington Corridor posts were moved to. Mods, also don't sneak and move this thread and all the others for Washington Corridor, Oak Forest, Garden Oaks, and Independence Heights to the Heights forum once all the previous content is reposted as y'all have done in the last two weeks and continue to do after I have painstaking reposted content and threads that never should have been removed in the first place (without no help from the mod who made the "error"). This is NOT in the Heights and it's not part of the Greater Heights area in any way. This is in the Washington Corridor area, an area that as suggested and advocated for previously needs its own forum because there is lots of development happening here, much spurred by the Sawyer Yards and Buffalo Heights developments. That in itself usually merits the creation for a new neighborhood forum. Until then, posts for those neighborhoods should remain in the forum for "Other Neighbohoods" has is done with other threads that don't have a dedicated neighborhood or area of town forum.Thanks. Washington Centre retail center and offices at 4601 Washington Avenue (between Fowler St & Parker St). This is in the Washington Corridor area of Houston, next to the Rice Military neighborhood. This is NOT in the Heights or part of the Heights area. Edited November 3, 2019 by CrockpotandGravel

Isn't there a three story empty building at Washington and Bonner? (Currently occupied by a single bank only) I figured I would have noticed construction on a 3 story shopping center with a parking garage, but I haven't seen anything of the sort yet. Seems like the only available space would be across from James Craig and Raia's. https://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/topic/12204-washington-avenue-renderings/?do=findComment&comment=297743 On 12/23/2008 at 3:19 PM, margokorin said: I think it is going to be across from Molinas. I think that they expedited the parking garage construction so they could begin obtaining income through valet parking contracts. That's the only way I think that Bronx Bar was able to solve their parking issues. https://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/topic/18093-another-bar-on-washington/?do=findComment&comment=353053 On 12/29/2009 at 6:47 PM, N Judah said: Drove down Washington Ave. the other day, not really in the mode of getting somewhere, but more to just poke around. So they are pretty much done with the big brick building with the parking lot in back (the one with "Washington Place" or whatever etched in a stone plaque in the very front). I think that building is hideous and I wish they had never built it. https://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/topic/18093-another-bar-on-washington/?do=findComment&comment=353055 On 12/29/2009 at 8:31 PM, OkieEric said: You mean Washington Centre? Yeah, it's large and extremely plain. I suppose it's better than what was there before (?), but it will still be huge and plain in 20 years. The rendering makes it look more like West Ave (not scale-wise, obviously) than it came out...perhaps it will improve as tenants eventually come in Edited November 3, 2019 by CrockpotandGravel
