Triton
I kept searching for this on mobile but it looks like search isn't exactly working 100% so please let me know if this thread exists already. I noticed all the signs now say 3 hour max Monday through Saturday. Didn't they used to read free after 6pm? Is anyone aware of a changing to parking in these areas?
cspwal
Downtown managment district says it's still free after 6 pm https://www.downtownhouston.org/parking/-street-parking/ Quote The meters accept cash, credit cards and pay-by-phone; hourly prices vary depending on location. Meters are FREE after 6 pm Monday-Saturday and all day Sunday City of Houston website still says that too https://www.houstontx.gov/parking/faq.html#whenenforced Quote Question: When are parking meters enforced? Answer: Parking meters are enforced Monday through Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., except where pay station or posted signs indicate otherwise. Parking meters are not enforced on Official City Holidays.

I could have sworn the signs actually had designated times on them along with the 3 hrs max. Perhaps not! Thanks cspwal.
kbates2
It is 5:52 and my ParkMobile app will only allow me to pay for a max of 8 minutes. I think the rules are unchanged.
Houston19514
I don't recall ever seeing signage that said parking is free after 6:

The new meters just won't accept payment.

kbates2
That are unnecessarily huge and take up half of the sidewalk.
Triton
Thanks everyone. Think my wife and I recalled what the signs said incorrectly. Good to see it's still free at night.
