hindesky
Planning commission approved the off street parking. Urban Genesis representative was asked if these are all HHA housing but he said it was half market priced and the other half is based on income. Amlaham
Is the off street parking just for the construction crew? Then they'll remove it?

Oh ok, I was just confused by the second to the last slide that said off street parking would eventually be replaced by additional landscape

No doubt, this likely looks like the same back country road that it was when it was first laid down 100 years ago. There's a long history of street "improvements" just leading to higher speeds and greater danger for all users. Doesn't have to be this way (the area of Montrose between Alabama and Richmond, east of Montrose Blvd is dreamy), but I'd want to see the plans before supporting street reconstruction in the Heights. jmitch94
They could improve this street while not widening it.

Like I said, I'm really impressed with the street reconstructions in that southeast corner of Montrose. But - and I could be wrong about this - I think that actually may depend on the street design codes. Certain lane widths may be legally mandated as a part of any reconstruction. Somebody else here would surely know better than I do, though.
hindesky
They are going to rebuild both N. Shepherd and Durham Dr. When they do it will have a bike path on it. They are currently working on both streets south of here and just north of Tommie Vaughn Ford working north to 610.
