HoustonMidtown
Does anyone know what is going on with the building on the corner of Fairview and the street before Taft (towards Baby Barnabys.....sorry, I can't remember the street name)....It looks to me like it might have been an old store or maybe apartments a while ago....it's now painted green and brown and looks like it might be new retail...maybe antiques like some of the other businesses in the area? This is one of those projects where the words "What were they thinking?" spring to mind. The effect is cheap and incongruous and bizarre. hindesky
Taking over the old Pepper Twins just down the block from their original Cuchara. It's usually packed on weekends so this may be a sister to take off some pressure from the staff and customer's wait times.

HoustonMidtown
Cucharita is almost ready! Join us in our new project, Cucharita. Cucharita will be a breakfast place that will offer a delicious menu with traditional Mexican breads and a fantastic breakfast cocktail program. To celebrate our opening, we have invited an amazing performance from Mexico City. "Fly sweet bird to the land of no return" tells the fantastic story of a young bird named Noah who journeys into the unknown to find her wings. Piano, cello and operatic vocals combine with simple poetry to create a unique and fairytale-like world that resonates as a story from somewhere within our childhood. There is no cost to attend but we require a formal RSVP as space is really limited. TEXT (no calls please) 713-304-4744 with your name and desired show time. We will try to accommodate as many guests as possible. Thursday September 15 at 6 PM Friday September 16 at 7 PM Saturday September 17 at 6 PM Saturday September 17 at 8 PM This event is for adults only and seats will be given in the order of arrival once we confirm you with a reservation code. Doors will open 45 minutes earlier for drinks and snacks. Then on Sunday September 18, we are having a "girly stuff" market from 10 AM to 6 PM where you will find unique items including vintage coffee and tea necessities. Breads, cakes, coffees, cocktails and mocktails will be available for purchase. Thank you for your patronage and we hope to see you for this unique experience!
