Katyville is back with a vegance.

Since when is chicken vegan?

On a more serious note, it does most certainly suck that a well-preserved MCM building is going to meet the wrecking ball to make way for another Chick-Fil-A, especially when the one on Shearn is all of a mile and a half away.

Country records indicate the 3800 Washington Ave property was sold in May. According to the warranty deed on file, Ramon Vitulli / Ray Vitulli acquired the property.

Ramon Vitulli is the CEO of Stellar Bank. In addition to the Chick-fil-A restaurant planned here, are there plans for Stellar Bank on the parcel too? There is also the possibility 3800 Washington Ave is a personal investment property of Vitulli.

I had the drawings for this building from a long ago project. Drawings for the original building were really nice for a 1 story building...  was looking forward to see who would renovate it. Would have loved to work on it. They gave two options on the drawings for pre-cast or cast-in-place on those columns and I'm unsure which was built.

Seems like a lost opportunity to do something great on that very centrally located corner. But I get that it's their land, this is Houston and they can do what they choose with it!

There will be a sea of parking and a small building I guess, much like suburbia. Any experts know how much space would be left over on the lot once CFA goes in? Additional buildings?

According to the permit posting, the new building is 2850 sq feet. -- This is what that would look like on the block....

so... yeah. Very Suburban development looks to be coming here.

They will need all that space for car traffic going around the building. They shouldn’t need parking if it’s drive-thru-only. I’ve never seen a CFA that wasn’t always packed.
