Highrise Tower
What's up with this school named Mirabeau B. Lamar School On Henry And Chestnut that was active in 1914? Isn't the full name of Lamar High School in River Oaks on Westheimer Road called Mirabeau B. Lamar High School? I forgot where I found this. Probably in a 1914 HISD school report? Is there an exact address to this HISD school? Mirabeau B. Lamar School, corner of Henry and Chestnut. District- From Southern Pacific tracks north to the city limits, and from Bayou east to line beginning at city limits, going on Chochran Street south to Noble, then west to Common, then south to Hogan, then west to Gentry, and then south to Southern Pacific Shops. For pupils of first six grades. Miss Nona Amerman, Principal. Fifteen regular teachers.
Dave W
That's the full name of Lamar High (unless it's been changed) but it didn't exist until at least 20 years after that listing and wasn't even called Lamar at first. There is (or was) an elementary school very near Henry @ Chestnut. Could be the same campus as the school in the 1914 listing.

That entry is clearly a primary school.
