Highrise Tower Posted April 12, 2023 Share Posted April 12, 2023 I was browsing Ebay for historical Houston items and noticed an old matchbook from the Japanese restaurant The Mikado located at 1719 Colonnade Drive. The matches also specify Mikado was located in Smith Square Center. Does anyone recall that small retail center by any chance? I believe it was in operation from the 1970s to the early 2000s? Looking on HA, I see a small "L" shaped building located just outside of both the apartment complexes. I assume this was the Smith Square Center? Who recalls this restaurant? Any memories from here?
