Highrise Tower
Anyone recall the old Houston Oilers Training Complex located at South Braeswood Blvd. & Fannin Street? I was looking for an address or photos of the complex. The site is now owned my HCFCD and has an address of 0 Fannin Street. I'm a little confused. There were two Houston Oilers training centers in the same neighborhood? One was built in the 1960s and the other opened in the early 1980s? Possibly the two were at the same location, but just rebuilt decades apart? Looking around, I see the Houston Oilers had a corporate office in the old APC building, located at 6910 Fannin Street. https://talesfromtheamericanfootballleague.com/houston-oilers-afl-timeline/ March 1, 1964: Oilers announce building of a new training site at Fannin and Braeswood. https://www.upi.com/Archives/1982/01/29/The-Houston-Oilers-Friday-unveiled-a-25-million-training/4256381128400/ January 29, 1982: The Houston Oilers Friday unveiled a $2.5 million training facility, complete with two racketball courts, to replace a training site that was widely considered to be the poorest in the NFL. The 17,860-square-foot complex on 5 acres in an industrial park is about a mile from the old site near the Astrodome.
