Highrise Tower
Built in 1938, the St. Joseph Hospital Maternity and Children's Building was located at 1902-1920 LaBranch Street. Designed by the architect Ilton E. Loveless. A photo of the (now demolished) hospital.

I was born there as well, a couple of decades after your wife. There once was a time when there was a pretty good chance that if you asked any native Houstonian where they were born, the answer would be "St. Joseph's".

EspersonBuildings
My mother was born there in 1935. But being as this says "built in 1938" I guess it was an earlier building. I remember this one and just assumed it was where she was born.

I was born at that "other" Houston hospital: Hermann. 🙂
JLWM8609
I was one of the last ones born in that building before births were moved to the current Women's Center.
