This looks like a great addition to the island.  Love to see it!

“Something about the dilapidated, then-blue house on the corner of 10th and Church caught Mary-Louise Stonecipher's eye back in 2016. Without question, the manse in Galveston Island's East End District had seen better days. What was once the Hughes' family residence in 1874 later became a student fraternity house for the University of Texas Medical Branch campus in the 1930s. It had also survived the Great Storm of 1900 and Hurricane Ike in 2008, though the dwelling fell into disrepair after the latter.

Regardless, Stonecipher phoned her daughter, Jordan Vaughn, and announced their next design project. The two co-own Alayna Louise Interiors.

"She said, 'We're going to renovate this home. We're going into this together,'" recalls Vaughn. "So I drove down and said, 'I'm not doing Grey Gardens with you.' There were fleas biting me when I first walked in."
