The museum announced a donation of $2 million from Fort Worth-based Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway, which will have naming rights for part of the museum. With Tuesday’s announcement, the museum has met the halfway point of its capital campaign. A groundbreaking is planned for later this year, and the museum is set to open in 2026. "But at the same time, he points out, nobody would suggest building a National Alamo Museum in Amarillo." How true! Although I wouldn't put it past Greg Abbott. Can we try to not let politics infect every thread in this forum? Please? AFAIK, neither Greg Abbott nor the State of Texas has had anything to do with the Fort Worth Juneteenth Museum. FWIW, as far as I can tell, the "National" designation of the so-called "National Juneteenth Museum" is self-proclaimed (very much like DFW to do that).
