Poor Farms dated back to the 1880s so I'm sure there was many around actually. Plat, or Master Plan. There was a total of 11 buildings- - Main White Inmate Building - Negro Home - Staff Housing and Administration Office - Mule & Hog & Cattle Barn - Garage & Maintenance Storage - Broiler House - Laundry & Storage - Superintendent Home - Chicken House - Water Tank - Store Rooms The entrance to the complex had a Harris County Home sign on the gate: Main Building: Negro Dorm: Negro House: Superintendent's Home: Aerial view from 2003 shows the complex layout: Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
