Black Bros. Furniture Company At 804 Capitol St.

Recommended Posts

In 1923, Henry F. Jones of Jones & Tabor Architects designed the Black Bros. Furniture Company located at 804 Capitol Street.

Edit:

Where nearly 40 years ago the foundations were being laid for a stately old home, this week construction will begin upon Houston's newest six-story business structure.

The home was the Henry House home; the building will be the Henry House Building. The site is Capitol Avenue and Milam Street.

The entire building is to be occupied by Black Brothers Furniture Company, now operating stores at 808 Prairie Avenue and at 710, 712, 714 Milam Street.

The property is being handled for Henry C. House, owner, by Walter N. Brown.

The first Henry House home stood on the site now owned by the Salvation Army, Texas Avenue and Milam Street. The house which stood on the site of the new building was erected in 1885.

Cool looking building!
