I've been talking a lot about the Houston-based architect Birdsall P. Briscoe. Very famous architect in the Houston area.  Birdsall designed countless of River Oaks mansions and other elegant buildings.  Briscoe has went into partnership at one point with Lewis Sterling Green, their architecture firm was named Green & Briscoe Architects. In 1910, the firm had an office in the Commercial National Bank Building in rooms 525-529.

In 1912, things were different and Birdsall P. Briscoe had his own practice?  He was working in rooms 333 of Commercial Bank Building.

The man is famous in Houston. He has a street named after him in Memorial! Also an apartment complex is named after him as well.

My (2) favorite buildings from him is the The Petroleum Building and the Blessed Sacrament Catholic School.

Petroleum Building turned Great Southwest Building turned Cambria Hotel.

Fun fact:  Birdsall Briscoe was so popular amongst the River Oaks and Memorial elite that one of the towers in The RO development is named after him.  Absolutely legendary!
