BigFootsSocks
From my experience, those "timelines/construction schedules" are usually put together early on in the design process, and are very far from accurate estimations. Since we have yet to see any public release on HBJ or they the architect/Hanover, I'm about pretty sure this won't start in July. Here's hoping tho

Of course it's wishful thinking, but it does seem, at least from this cycle, that energy companies like buildings built specifically for them. Maybe this experience will push them back to leasing space though.

Maybe this experience will push them back to leasing space though. That would be great, but Oxy restructured their lease for a long term so who knows whether they would hold the land. If Apache were to be acquired, Oxy may sell the land back to the original developer. This wouldn't necessarily be bad for BLVD Place and the area. Avossos
Apache is not getting bought. I have multiple connections there. Simply some layoffs. hopefully this tower is still a go then, @swtsig
monarch
^^^ @Avossos no layoffs are simple. also, wouldn't the number of "layoffs" be indicative as to whether or not the tower in question is hereby needed? additionally, the proposed merger between apache and mariner energy.... has now become finalized. one would guess that all of the inner intangibles shall at some point become public. hopefully, houston capitalizes.... Popular Post brijonmang
Just got sent a few renderings of BLVD Place, I'll try to describe it since I haven't been given the green light to post anything yet. Base looks very similar to BLVD Place where Whole Foods is, and then the tower portion is very similar to Hanover River Oaks (only one main tower though - not L shaped like the River Oaks building). There are some set backs of balconies to give a bit of 'character' to the building but over all it's a pretty simple boxy design (nothing like 2929 Weslayan). There does appear to be a little interesting feature at the roof level as the last floor curves away from the box shape to accommodate a plaza with a pool. Bonus feature, the pool has a bit of a cantilever like Market Square Tower downtown. Not sure there is a glass bottom, though. 27 stories, should compliment the first apartment tower well.

Part of this process includes a wind tunnel test, which is done using a model of building place in bigger model of the site where the structure will be located. Below are some pictures of the this model which illustrates all of the work that goes into performing this test....It is really cool!!
cloud713
is it just me or are there some unbuilt towers in this model..? Looks like the San Felipe/Post Oak residential, and one or two others at BLVD Place..

Montrose1100
Ugh! Yes! Build it! Looks like a more geometric 2929 Weslayan. Pretty thick tower, should be twice as tall ;).
monarch
^^^ props @brijonmang these renderings / concepts exhibit a very miami-esque flair to this development. a very lively tower... looks like fun. thanks for the contribution....

wxman
Beautiful! I know some of us have eluded to this current building cycle coming to a close. Yet the number of new projects on the books and coming out of the ground doesn't seem to indicate that. Color me grateful.

Inc.’s Blvd Place retail center. Brandt Bowden, Hanover’s managing partner for capital markets, told the Houston Business Journal in an email that the developer intends to break ground on Hanover Boulevard Place this year, though the exact date for the construction start is yet to be determined.

Montrose1100
I'm not grasping where the new Hanover is going. If it's going to the south of the current one, as the renderings on the last page show, why is there now "future office" listed on that site?
