MidtownCoog
This is a neat read from Talking Point.Add your comments:http://newsforums.bbc.co.uk/nol/thread.jsp...=20060622013425I found this one funny: The climate of San Antonio, the public transportation of Toronto, the prices of Houston, the architecture of San Francisco, the cleanliness of Berne, the charm (and the women) of Paris. Now that would be an ideal city.
2112
Sorry. But the women of Houston beats them all. Hands down. Also, the food here rules also. I will, however, take the San Francisco weather.

TJones
Unincorporated Brewster County.Ideal city, San Diego down by the Marina or over by the Charger's stadium. Other than that, I'll take Houston.
The Great Hizzy!
Dangit! T. Jones beat me to it.SD weather = best in USA for me. Though, I would like a bit more rain. They could stand to have our level of greenery, for sure.Anyway,Mix: SD weather, Chicago public planning, Houston charm, eclecticism, dining and cost of living, Seattle architecture and I'm good. Original Timmy Chan's
Unincorporated Brewster County. Wow...way to narrow it down. That's only equivalent to the area of the states of Rhode Island and Connecticut combined. But yeah, I'd take that too. South County that is...Alpine is too yuppified nowadays. I'd also take a nice spring in the Chinati Mountains to retire next to.
Trae
San Francisco weather, Chicago mass transit, D.C. freeways and topography, then, everything else, Houston.
KimberlySayWhat
Houston/San Diego mix with some Palm Springs or Death Valley nestled in somewhere within. I love the desert.
BayouCityGirl
Toronto's city and vibe with L.A.'s movie appeal factor (movie making appeal) with L.A. weather (-sunny-and Toronto has GREAT Transportation...Houston's transportation ....yea...) Oh and the mountains of Colorado! Houston would look awesome with mountains!! Give the city a neat little edge
The Great Hizzy!
If Houston had mountains, I'd prefer it be surrounding the city. The thing I like most about Phoenix is that the city itself is fairly flat but you can always look up in any direction and see some interesting mountainscapes.I'm not a big fan of overbearing hills or mountains in the city. Makes traveling the topography more difficult, IMO. And sometimes, your views are blocked.
RedScare
I'd love Houston with a Seattle topography located on the Galveston coast. Climate about 5 degrees cooler than Houston's. Throw in Chicago's mass transit (skip the els). Keep the rain...adds a little variety. San Diego can get boring sometimes.
PureAuteur
My dream city would be a very gritty and overpopulated place with scorching humid weather, lots of cars everywhere driving from place to place on crowded freeways, residential sprawl, and high crime and murder rates. The Great Hizzy!
In other words, Miami.
BayouCityGirl
If we *(Houston) had mountains facing the Gulf of Mexico, would it be possible for hurricanes to come through to Houston? or would we get sprinkles?
Montrose1100
If we *(Houston) had mountains facing the Gulf of Mexico, would it be possible for hurricanes to come through to Houston? or would we get sprinkles? It would depend on the height of the mountains... My ideal city would be: Los Angeles Weather, Cologne's Public Transportation, Paris' Model/Media Hype, New York & London's Night Life, Galveston to be like Ibiza, The Cleanliness of Singapore, The Hospitality, Spirit, and Skyline of Houston, and the same geographic features of Denver, and the greenary/vegitation of Upstate New York. Heights2Bastrop
If Houston had mountains, there wouldn't be oil. Without oil, it wouldn't be Houston.
Montrose1100
If Houston had mountains, there wouldn't be oil. Without oil, it wouldn't be Houston. Well, this is about describing a dream city. Who said there was no oil with mountains? Ever been to Los Angeles? Alaska? Russia? Colorado?
