bobruss
There's an article in today's Houston Chronicle about Dan Friedkin, who is the local Houstonian behind the Auberge group, which is building the new High rise and hotel in this development. He also owns Gulf States Toyota, an Italian soccer team, an African Glamping resort, and was one of the producers of the Killing of Flower Moon. I don't have access to the Chronicle, but it sounds like something that might be interesting to read and learn a little more about this very low profile businessman.

Popular Post Highrise Tower
This one is going fast! CREguy13 had said that everything should go up all at once. Piling update. Looks like they got a row forming! There is a big excavation going on to the left of the concrete piling.
Popular Post asubrt
Awesome to see this going full speed ahead all of a sudden years after being announced. Between this and the Ashby High Rise/Langley starting construction, it gives us a bit of hope about other projects long left for dead 10

My understanding is the first office building, MF highrise and the retail building will all be underway this year. The Auburge/Birdsall likely gets going early 2025 (I believe the presales are doing pretty well on the condos), and Oxy in 2026. There's a midrise MF planned and not sure of the timing on that. All that to say there will be lots of construction over the next several years. 12

The green field directly north of the baseball/soccer field. I heard from an informed source that SJS is putting in tennis courts. One source said courts only, another said a small athletic office with it. I've confirmed they are building tennis courts, plus a softball field. 1

ChannelTwoNews
No surprise, but... Transwestern breaks ground on The RO mixed-use in Upper Kirby - Houston Business Journal (bizjournals.com) "Transwestern Development Co. announced June 24 that it has broken ground on The RO, a 17-acre development at 3120 Buffalo Speedway, near the corner of West Alabama Street and Buffalo Speedway."

Highrise Tower
Happy Friday everyone! Yesterday I stopped by the site to take some updated construction photos. The big hole that's being excavated seems to have a crater in it. A hole inside of a hole.
Popular Post Geoff8201
Lots of progress in a week. Been watching it daily and they have moved some serious dirt. I’ll see in the morning a line of over a dozen dump trucks ready to haul away dirt, with more coming and going all day. They have broken away an old retaining wall that bordered the west edge of what used to be the Exxon Training Center, as the hole gets bigger. First two photos are from Wednesday, last two from just now.

astrohip
I'm confused. Looking at this pic (from @Geoff8201 above), are they building two buildings at once? There is the smaller, skinnier strip on the very west of the property (the only part that sticks out beyond the rectangle of the main area), and there is a slightly larger const area just to the left/east of it. What's what?
