SOUTHWEST FREEWAY HOV OPENS INTO DOWNTOWN MONDAY
At 5 a.m Monday, May 22, 2006, access into downtown via the Southwest Freeway HOV lane will change.
Inbound:
1. Existing Shepherd slip ramp to U.S. 59 will be closed.
2. New exit slip ramp to U.S. 59 at Dunlavy and Travis opens.
3. The new endpoint will be the Louisiana exit of Spur 527.
Outbound:
1. New outbound HOV lane on Spur 527 will begin at the Smith entrance.
2. Next entry slip ramp will be located at Dunlavy on U.S. 59.
3. The existing Shepherd slip ramp will be permanently closed.
The new HOV Lane entrance ramp outbound at Milam/Alabama opens in June.
The Southwest Freeway HOV is open inbound, 5 a.m. to 11 a.m., Monday
